Description:
Ridu: Scarab War is a 3D First-person shooter game designed for fast-paced gameplay. The AI actively pressures the player once they enter an area. In addition, the levels allow the player to enjoy the parkour mechanics of the game via a swinging grappling hook.
The Level Design Process:
Creating a level that matched the overall group theme, "Bug War".
Designing both a successfully functional and visually appealing level.
Learning the "ProBuilder" and "ProGrids" tools in Unity and incorporating it into the grey-boxing process.
Learning how to import/export the levels between Unity and Unreal Engine 4.
QA Testing and writing bug reports via Jira and Trello which are then used for build improvements/fixes.
Incorporating feedback from outside sources, the professors and fellow game design students.
Making sure the final polished level was functional and could not be broken by play testers'.
